End of the World? Give Me a Break!

Published by Paul on

News flash: December–2012. Man goes crazy in Fall City, WA claiming the world is coming to an end.  Is 12.12.12 the end of the world per some ancient culture?   Y2K was going to be the end of the business cycle as we knew it because of date failures, on  computers, unable to move from the 20th to 21st century.

What is it that people are looking for in this world?  Answers?  If so, what are the questions?  The chaos of the world in the financial markets, warring factions in theMiddle Eastand exponential cultural change has many concerned and confused.

As a life coach, counselor and mentor, I am seeing people, young and old, rich and poor, Republican and Democrat, men and women who are anxious, afraid and unsure of next steps in their lives.  My website outlines my approach to attacking fear and the fog of life that many are facing.

Attention: There are 3 words that bring order out of chaos in our personal lives: Faith, hope and love.

A fast food chain had a great ad, “Where’s the beef?” indicating that their sandwich was the real deal and the other guy was cheating on the amount and quality of meat in their offerings. In life, faith, hope and love are the real deal when confronting the challenges facing you and me in the world.

Faith, from a biblical perspective, is in our Creator, not in our ability, or strength or Mother Earth.  Faith is believing that we can have a personal relationship with God who loves and cares about us.  In our act of faith, we will receive direction.

Hope says that order and productive living  is possible.  Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever–a reliable source of consistency in a chaotic world. Hope says that there is God’s answer to every problem, and that our faith will lead to results giving us that hope.

Love is a biblical concept that offers us a connection to the world that preserves order and  helps to avoid or manage chaotic relationships and actions.  An act of love on a cross 2000 years ago covers our actions which violate God’s moral code. Our acceptance of what was done that day allows us to forgive others and stifles our desire to judge our boss, spouse, friends or the old guy going 40 mph in the fast lane.  We can learn to express love in many ways.

To appropriate faith, hope and love in our daily living is to find peace and joy in whatever situation we are in.  To do so requires intentionality on our part, to seek God’s direction but also to take personal steps of responsibility.

Your world is not coming to an end!   If you are looking for that peace that transcends all understanding or have a friend that might use this message today, take a look at the web site and see if any of those steps might help. Let me know if we can be part of bringing order and peace in a seemingly chaotic situation.  Your outlook on life can change faster than you might think.

Blessings.  Ephesians 3:20-21.
